Nick Boyd is an artist-songwriter from Rock Island, Illinois. Growing up in the heart of the Midwest, Nick was destined to absorb music from all genres. From the perfect harmonies of his grandfather’s Eagles records, to the pop and country gold of his father’s burnt Garth Brooks and Michael Jackson CD’s, to his grandmother’s upright piano in the living room, Nick was shaping his sound without even realizing it. His self-dubbed ‘country midwestern’ genre is a clear reflection of where he comes from.
In 2014, Nick moved to Nashville Tennessee where he attended Belmont University. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Commercial Music with a Music Business emphasis. During his four years at Belmont, Nick discovered the magic of songwriting and co-writing, learning from his peers, classmates, and teachers. As a vehicle to deliver his rangy vocals and dynamic tone, Nick’s original music led him to win Belmont University’s Curb College Country Music Showcase and afforded him a spot in BU’s School of Music’s Commercial Showcase.
In 2019, Nick signed a worldwide publishing deal with Liz Rose Music. These past couple of years, Nick has spent time honing his lyrical craft, finding where his sonic space fits in the country market, and discovering what he wants to say as an artist. In 2021, Nick landed his first major label cut with Universal Music Group’s CB30 with a song called ‘Old Phone.’ Nick’s collaborators span from seasoned veterans like Liz Rose, Jimmie Allen, and Kylie Sackley, to up and comers like Rian Ball, Cameron Bedell, and Lauren McLamb.
2022 looks promising for Nick as he is set to release his debut single ‘Coming From,’ a song about taking the next steps in a relationship of bringing a girl home to meet his family and see his hometown. Boyd penned ‘Coming From’ with Nashville songwriters Cameron Bedell and Danny Myrick. The record will be produced by Nashville producer/songwriter Rian Ball.
